Jan Dance became interested in photography at an early age, both her mother and a cousin were avid photographers.
She got her first camera when she was just 7 years old and the passion grew from there. Having spent so much time behind the lens, Jan learnt to experiment with images and subjects. Once she moved on to the era of digital cameras, her horizons widened and she became more adventurous and more successful in capturing beautiful images.
One of Jan’s favourite subjects is water, it is calming and peaceful, so easy to capture its beauty and serenity. Her other loves are nature, birds and animals, many hours spent waiting to get that perfect photograph in their natural habitat. She also has a passion for sunsets and though not a morning person, has been known to venture out before sunrise to capture some amazing images.
Jan has been encouraged to enter her photographs into international photography competitions, which has proven to be successful. This has placed her up among some of the world’s best photographers.
It is rare to find Jan without a camera in her hand.
